All of our regular entertainment events at Stardust are put together by Hannah Batchelor who is qualified Dance Teacher with the ISTD, UKCA and holds a DBS, First aid certificate and safeguarding certification.
Hannah’s love of dance, entertaining and teaching began at a very young age and she loves to pass this on to both young and old at parties, events and workshops.
When Hannah was 13 she auditioned and gained a place on The Dance City Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) Programme which is one of nine Dance CATs across England offering professional level pre-vocational dance training to young people aged 9 to 18 years old. The Dance City CAT is supported by the government’s Department for Education (DfE) and is responsible for delivering contemporary dance training to gifted and talented young dancers in the North East region. Hannah trained here for 9 hours a week along side school until she was 18 years of age as well as attending many other evening and after school dance classes at Newcastle Dance Centre and Terpsichore dance.
At the age of 16, Hannah started assisting with classes at her local dance school and was also asked to run an after school dance club for children at a local primary school. Hannah also helped out in the school productions choreographing dances and teaching younger students.
From the age of 16-18 Hannah studied for her BTEC in Performing Arts where she studied all aspects of dance, drama and music graduating with distinctions in all areas. Hannah then went on gain a place at Cambridge Performing Arts (Bodywork) where she trained full time in musical theatre. While training Hannah was given the opportunity to perform in various productions such as My Fair Lady, A Chorus line, Les Miserables, Little Shop of Horrors and Wicked.
While studying Hannah trained and achieved her exercise to music qualification and started teaching classes part-time to help fund her training, after finishing training at Cambridge Performing Arts she then spent a further 3 years training to achieve her dance teacher qualifications and became an ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing) qualified teacher in Ballet and Modern Theatre dance. Hannah also holds her Zumba Fitness Instructor qualifications in Aqua, Toning, Gold and Zumba Kids, as well as her level two gym instruction, Balance Ability instructor, Cheerleading level 2 and 3 coaching qualifications with the UK Cheerleading Association and a tumbling qualification.
Hannah founded Stardust in 2010 and has never looked back, she believes that dancing and having fun is something that everyone should be able to enjoy and hopes to inspire lots of children and adults with her love of dance.
